Lesson 14

Do country borders and state borders coincide?
Lesson 14

This lesson invites students to reflect on the difference between a country as a place in the heart and a state as a political structure. Through observing images, reflection, metaphors, and philosophical questions, children explore what makes a home, what shapes identity, and how we can carry our country within ourselves—completely independent of where we live. Children create personal “maps,” “passports of dreams,” and “time suitcases,” fostering empathy, connection, and imagination.
